 Are you a critical care nurse who is easy-going, adaptable, and enjoys working as part of a high-functioning and cohesive team? If yes, then we have an exciting nursing opportunity for you within our Critical Care team here at East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook.

The ICU has 4 beds with a planned expansion to 6 beds scheduled for completion in 2016. The ICU is 24/7 and staffed with 2RNs. RT services are available 7 days week until 1900 and on-call thereafter. Our ER underwent renovations in 2006 and has 14 monitored beds, an isolation room, pediatic room, gynecological and trauma rooms. We have 24 hr/day doctor coverage and you will work with a full complement of internists and surgeons and in conjunction with the High Acuity Response Team regarding transfers both in and out of the outlying facilities.

At East Kootenay Regional Hospital, we care for over 80,000 patients a year and provide hospital services to residents of the East Kootenay Health Service Area.

  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).
  • Advanced preparation in a critical care clinical specialty and 2 years related clinical experience aligned with unit specific competencies or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 3 years.
