Do you enjoy identifying and developing opportunities that support the growth of storage and energy infrastructure in Alberta and globally? Our client in South West of Calgary is looking for a Business Development Representative. The key objectives include selling reservoir storage, infrastructure development, processing solutions and pipelines, rail and truck transportation to new and existing customers

Job Responsibilities 

  • Sell storage, transportation and processing to existing and new customers in the refining, petrochemical and oil & gas space
  • Identify, evaluate and develop opportunities for storage and energy infrastructure including green and brown field developments and acquisitions
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry groups, government and municipal agencies, strategic development partners, indigenous peoples and customers
  • Assess and identify projects and solutions that demonstrate economic feasibility using stage gate model
  • Develop and implement business strategy leading to the successful sanctioning of commercial opportunities
  • Negotiate commercial terms in alignment with business objectives
  • Provide ongoing leadership and support to commercial development teams
Candidate Qualification

  • Seven to ten years’ experience in commercial or business development role within the oil & gas midstream sector
  • A post-secondary degree in Commerce or Engineering
  • Proven business development, sales and marketing expertise in the oil & gas midstream sector
  • Established relationships with industry and government stakeholders important to the advancement of oil & gas midstream business initiatives
  • Ability to connect and build relationships with key decision makers/influencers to generate new business leads
  • Ability to translate industry and economic trends into development of realistic business strategies
  • Strong financial and business acumen to support commercial viability assessment
  • Sound negotiation and decision making skills
  • Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit for executing extensive growth
  • Technical background in natural gas and liquids transportation, processing and storage
  • Project Management as it relates to project development and sanctioning involving key stakeholders
  • Additional designations in business administration, financial management, or other relevant experience are considered assets
