Education: Bachelor’s degree


Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years


Ability to Supervise: 3-4 people

Administrative and Coordination Skills: Estimate costs


Architects Skills: Consult with clients to determine the type, style and purpose of renovations or new building construction being considered, Conceptualize and design buildings and develop plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs and construction schedules, Prepare sketches and models, Prepare or supervise the preparation of drawings, specifications and other construction documents for use by contractors and tradespersons, Monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications


Architectural Specialization: Public buildings, New construction, Renovation, Site inspections, Commercial, Interior and space planning, Industrial, Residential construction, Restoration and/or preservation


Computer Applications: Architectural software programs, Computer-aided design (CAD), Data manipulation and analysis, SketchUp, AutoCAD


Related Skills: Architectural research, Interior design (general)


Work Setting: Private company, corporation or industry Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
