The Account Officer’s primary goal is to provide professional support to team members and customers by identifying and attending to their administrative needs related to sales operations excellence, compliance and customer service. This position ensures that actions related to account transactions are completed accurately through working closely with both the sales team members and customers on both the business and personal lending side.

The Account Officer role serves as a comprehensive training foundation for those that are intrinsically motivated and interested in growing into a sales career, with a keen desire to support the personal and business banking needs for entrepreneurs

Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to:

* Creating unique customer experiences by fulfilling the basic and evolving needs of new and existing customers in a timely manner

* Supporting sales team members by answering calls, maintaining daily calendars, scheduling appointments with customers, scanning, e-filing, and updating reports

* Completing processes related to account openings and account maintenance, ensuring required documentation and inputs are complete, correct and on file to meet all regulatory requirements

* Conducting research on customers to determine portfolio gaps and connecting with the sales teams to enable enhanced success in customer conversations

* Following up with customers on outstanding items including payments, renewal documents and credit applications

* Effectively managing operational and regulatory risk through a thorough understanding of business/retail lending issues, processes and outcomes


* Connector: Build relationships naturally and bring people of mutual interest together

* Translator: Convert large volumes of information, complex or ambiguous, into readily-understood communication

* Hungry: Combine the intrinsic motivation and drive to excel, with the ability and determination to achieve success

* Business Judgment: Identify business issues, process and outcomes that affect ATB and the customer

Job Requirements


* Post secondary education in business or related discipline is required

* Previous administration/sales operations experience with capacity to thrive in a fast paced environment is required

* 1-2 years of previous banking experience with previous retail or commercial banking or merchant solutions/card payment industry experience considered an asset

* Exceptional communication skills to articulate messages verbally and in writing to a broad and diverse audience

* Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated customer service orientation

* Demonstrated capacity to handle multiple tasks and interruptions in a fast-paced environment to ensure that deadlines are met and no details are overlooked
