The Account Manager is responsible for ensuring clients within his/her portfolio receive the service agreed to as stipulated in the contract. The Account Manager will establish and nurture an ongoing productive relationship with the client’s representative, ensuring that lines of communication are established and continuously open.  The Account Manager is expected to acquire an understanding of the client’s business and operating processes in order to identify and/or recognize the client’s security requirements and consequently, offer cost effective solutions to those needs.



  • Serves as a key point of client contact to ensure the delivery of service meets the terms and conditions of the contract, to inform the client about any issues and situations affecting their organization or facilities, to make changes to the service agreement as per clients’ request, and to address any concerns, complaints and/or suggestions in a timely, positive and responsible manner.
  • Seeks opportunities to increase protection to clients’ assets and to anticipate the client’s future needs.
  • Prepares and coordinates staffing schedules, and ensures that the personnel deployed are licensed, trained and equipped to fulfill the requirements of the contract and possess the individual competencies necessary to fulfill client expectations.
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection process, training developments, and retention plans to  ensure the staff are being coached and disciplined as necessary
  • Ensures clients’ invoices are accurate, and investigate any abnormalities
  • Maintains a high level of competency and knowledge in the corporation’s business, demonstrates professionalism, and complies with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Any tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as instructed by the Operations Manager and/or Executive team


    Education Required:

    4 year post secondary education, or equivalent experience. 

    High School Diploma or equivalent 

    Valid Alberta driver’s license 
    Education Preferred: 

    Alberta Security Services License 

    Standard First Aid and CPR 

    AGLC Staff Training, such as ProServe, ProTect, A Good Call, and/or Deal Us In 

    Experience Required: 

    At least 3 years of experience in management, client services, marketing/sales, budgeting, and/or scheduling 
    Experience Preferred: 

    Previous experience as an account manager in contract security, facilities management, military or law enforcement 

    Special Knowledge/ Skills Required: 

    Ability to adapt and/or manage unusual circumstances and difficult people 

    Ability to maintain confidentiality 

    Ability to multitask while paying attention to detail 

    Ability to work independently and as a team 

    Effective interpersonal skills 

    Effective verbal and written communication skills including negotiation and presentation skills 

    Effective planning, organizing and time management skills 

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel 

    Special Knowledge/ Skills Preferred: Ability to perform guard duties, if necessary
