Aboriginal Business Development Analyst

Husky’s Aboriginal and Community Relations (ACR) team has an opening available for an Aboriginal Business Development Analyst. The overall focus of this position is to establish and maintain a robust Aboriginal economic inclusion and reporting system for the company. This position will report to the Team Lead, Aboriginal Business Development. This is a one year contract position in Calgary, AB with the potential for renewal. 

Business and reporting systems support: 

•Support the development of the overall company Aboriginal Procurement reporting system 

•Support the development of ACR analytical and reporting systems for community Investment and Mentorship programs, plus annual sustainability report. 

•Generate Aboriginal Vendor spend reports for integration into existing internal annual, quarterly and monthly reporting systems 

•Bridge with company SAP Teams to integrate Aboriginal Spend Data 

•Liaise with various business units to ensure accurate capture of Aboriginal Spend data into company enterprise systems 

•Support operation objectives by studying business functions, gathering information plus, evaluating information requirements and formats 

•Initiate and coordinate continuous improvement efforts 

•Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures 

Business Case Coordination: 

•Support ACR Business Development Adviser in compilation of annual Aboriginal procurement business plants and strategies 

•Support the development of recommendations for specific support of implementation tactics to achieve ACR Business objectives 

•Support the development of comprehensive project overviews of significant projects and programs. 

Project, Program, and Negotiation Coordination: 

•Assist in defining information requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements 

•Monitor project progress by tracking activity, identifying problems, publishing progress reports and recommends actions 

•Coordinate company negotiation team’s schedule for bi-lateral and other Aboriginal agreements 

•Coordinate agreement schedules, develop a robust agreement gap analysis model and support the implement of a priority dashboard update tool 

Maintain Aboriginal Vendor Data: 

•Organize new vendor inquiries using existing or new IS tools 

•Modify and improve current Aboriginal vendor list to meet business needs 

•Liaise with Procurement representatives to ensure company alignment on vendor data 

•Create an Aboriginal vendor gap analysis model and implement 

•Provide references for users by wiring and maintaining user documentation 

Must Haves: 

•Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Economics 

•Minimum of 5 years of BA experience; ability to procure and analyze data pertaining to Aboriginal Business Development and clearly communicate this to Husky stakeholders so that they may make informed business decisions 

•Excel will be used for internal and external report generation. Currently ACR have a number of reporting templates so it will mostly involve importing data from SAP and doing some maintenance stuff. 

•Strong SAP or Equivalent skills (Still waiting) 

•Experience with Supply chain projection software and delivery software (Spotfire) as it is heavily used within the execution team 

Nice to have: 

•Experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, Transportation, etc. 

•Experience managing Aboriginal vendors 

•Experience in managing vendors that specifically deal with Drilling and/or transportation
